Official Journal published decision on Moldovan-Ukrainian agreement in higher education

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/- The Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education. The decision to start negotiations and approve the signing of the agreement in this regard was published in the Official Journal on 15 October.

According to the draft Agreement, "its signing and implementation will continue the tradition of decades of cooperation between the parties, in order to promote excellence in education, support academic mobility, support cooperation between subordinate institutions and create opportunities for developing people-to-people contacts."

Thus, the bilateral treaty provides: exchange of experience in the main areas of development, management and planning in the field of higher education; expanding mutual participation in international seminars, conferences, symposia, etc .; the annual granting, on a reciprocal basis, of state scholarships for the exchange of students and researchers in order to train specialists in various priority specialties for national economies; initial and continuous training of scientific and pedagogical staff.

This Agreement implements the provisions of the 1993 Agreement on Good Neighborhood, Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine and replaces the Protocol between the Ministry of Education of Moldova and the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science on cooperation in education for the academic years 2016-2017, 2017 -2018 and 2018-2019 of 2016, the action of which expired on December 31, 2020.
