Moldovan foreign minister to visit Bulgaria

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu received Bulgarian Ambassador to Chisinau Evgueni Stoytchev, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Officials discussed ways to advance traditional friendly relations to a new quality level, including by involving the Bulgarian diaspora in the Republic of Moldova, the MAEIE press service has reported.

"I gladly accepted the invitation from my counterpart Svetlan Stoev to pay a visit to Sofia early next year, in the context of celebrating in 2022 the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations," Popescu said.

Also, the officials pointed out the signing in the near future of a plan on bilateral consultations for 2021-2022 between the foreign ministries of both countries.

Popescu thanked Sofia authorities for supporting Moldova and assistance in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
