Exhibition dedicated to anniversary of Romanian Language magazine opened at National Library

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- An exhibition of periodicals entitled Romanian Language Magazine - three decades since its founding was recently inaugurated at the National Library of the Republic of Moldova.

Institution's head Elena Pintilei said that the exhibition includes about 130 issues of the magazine from different years of publication.

Founded in 1991 in Chisinau, the science and culture magazine Romanian Language has undertaken the task of contributing to the revival of the official language of the state of the Republic of Moldova, to the return to the circuit of national cultural values ​​banned in Bessarabia. for half a century. The publication constantly addressed various aspects regarding the ethnic and linguistic identity of Bessarabian Romanians, contributing to the promotion of standard Romanian language norms, to the evaluation of the national spiritual heritage as a necessary premise in the European integration process, to the stimulation of intercultural dialogue, etc.

Editor-in-chief of the publication Alexandru Bantoș said during three decades the magazine managed to become, through its scientific attire and high style, an indispensable working tool for researchers, for teachers in the Republic of Moldova, a effective help for all those interested in the thorough knowledge of the mother tongue, the past, the present and the dynamics of the development of the Romanian language, literature and culture. For 30 years, over 260 magazine issues have been published, as well as 40 books, signed by well-known linguists (Nicolae Corlăteanu, Silviu Berejan, Anatol Ciobanu, Nicolae Mătcaș, etc.).

The magazine was founded by Ion Dumeniuk, Nicolae Mătcaș and Alexandru Bantoș.

The exhibition can be visited until November 1, in compliance with legal measures and recommendations made by the authorities, to prevent and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
