New protocol on cooperation in education sector to be signed with Romanian Education Ministry

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved the initiation of negotiations and approval of the signing of the protocol on cooperation between the Moldovan Education and Research Ministry and the Education Ministry of Romania for 2021-2025, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The cooperation protocol’s goal is to continue the activities and projects in education, including the programme on academic mobility between the sides, as well as the support by the Romanian authorities of the process of reformation and modernization of Moldova’s education system, in line with the country’s European integration aspirations.  

The draft of the cooperation protocol contains the following provisions: 

- implementation of the programme on academic mobility between the sides;

- carrying out training probations for teachers and leadership staff from the general education, school inspectors and teachers from the higher education of Moldova;   

- working out and harmonization of the school syllabi, in accordance with the European education practices;

- making donation of text-books and other methodological and teaching materials;   

- development of partnerships between pre-university education institutions, school inspectorates and other structures in the field;

- development of partnerships between specialty agencies subordinated to the two ministries and implementation of joint projects in the framework provided by the regional and European syllabi in the education sector and professional training.

The present treaty will replace the protocol on cooperation between the Education and Research Ministry of Moldova and the Education Ministry of Romania for the 2016-2019 academic years.
