Simple motion filed against Moldovan justice minister fails

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The simple motion submitted by the parliamentary faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists against Justice Minister Sergiu Litvinenco has failed. Fifty three MPs voted against the document.

The justice minister read a report before the parliament’s plenum and criticized the motion’s text, describing it as ‘’weakly reasoned.’’

The simple motion filed by the faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists against the justice minister was submitted on 14 October. The authors said that the justice minister would have been ‘’involved in more processes and promote a policy of undermining the independence of the Prosecutor General’s Office.’’
