Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/- Today, the city of Ialoveni celebrates 585 years since its founding and celebrates the Feast of the locality, on the occasion of the celebration of Saint Parascheva. During the event, the authorities announced a program of activities, which will be limited due to the pandemic.

The agenda of the festivities started in the morning and will end at 17.00. The program of the holiday includes a divine service at the Church "Saint Pious Parascheva", the Fair of Folk Craftsmen, a concert with the participation of local and national artists, the inauguration of a street, a multifunctional center and sewerage station, the balance of competitions announced by the mayor's office, etc. .

The administration warns the inhabitants and guests of the city to respect the sanitary-epidemiological norms imposed by the pandemic crisis COVID-19, and the organizers to comply with the provisions of the Extraordinary National Commission of Public Health.

Ialoveni is a city in the central part of the Republic of Moldova, residence of the Central Development Region and the district of the same name. From a copy from a Serbian ispisoc, dated 1528, we find out about the villages in the area of the Ișnovăț Gorges, namely: the village above the head of the Cheilor (which is southeast of the current locality where the Ișnovăț riverbed narrows) and the village of down from the head of the Ișnovăț Gorges, and the owner of the village was Lașco from Ișnovăț who had a property book from Ilieș Voevod, lord of the Land of Moldavia (1432-1433 and 1435-1436). The village located above these Gorges was identified with modern Ialoveni. The historical antiquity of Ialoveni village, initially known as "the village above the head of the Keys", can conventionally be reported in 1436. The name "Ialoveni" of the locality appears much later, the first mention being found in a sales document dated April 16, 1639, and in another document dated September 9, 1643. The first heirs of these places received desolate, celery land. It is possible that the name of the locality comes from here, because the word "ialovița", of Serbo-Croatian origin, also has the meaning of a clear land.
