Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- Today, Radio Moldova celebrates 91 years of founding.

Radio Moldova director Veaceslav Gheorghişenco said that this is the oldest public institution in the country. "I was with the listeners in the most beautiful and difficult times. Radio Moldova has a rich heritage and we promote the values of national and universal culture. We really want to be fair and equidistant. Radio Moldova has shows for all tastes and for all ages, which are broadcast on three channels: Radio Moldova, which is a generalist station, but with a focus on current affairs, Radio Moldova Muzical and Radio Moldova Tineret ", mentioned Veaceslav Gheorghișenco.

According to the quoted source, in 91 years many things have changed. "There were times we know differently, but even then we had first-rate professionals, people who spoke a correct and beautiful Romanian language. Last year, on the 90th anniversary, during a week I carried out a very interesting project at Radiojurnalul Amiezii. Former announcers - Ion Munteanu, Tamara Berzoi, Mariana Bahnaru, Vera Mereuță, golden voices of Radio Moldova, read news together with the editors-presenters from today's News Editorial Office. Starting with April 20, 2021, the number one Studio within the Radio Moldova institution is named after the late journalist Alexei Revenco, Master in Art, holder of the “Gloria Muncii” Order, considered the golden voice of the national public station. In this way, we wanted to pay homage to the one who was Alexei Revenco, a golden voice, a man of rare decency, a man of character and, at the same time, very modest. In studio no. 1 he worked for 43 years in a row. I think that those who will come after him and enter this studio, will remember the one who brought glory to our institution ", Veaceslav Gheorghișenco underlined.

The Radio Moldova Archive (the memory of Radio Moldova) is the first, oldest and richest media archive in the Republic of Moldova. The first recording dates back to 1949, a joke song in the voice of Eugeniu Ureche. Over the years, Radio Moldova's Golden Sound Library has been enriched with unique values of our history and culture. The sound archive is stored on an area of 378.4 square meters and preserves, on different media, about 128 thousand 359 units with a duration of 380,074 thousand hours, structured in two compartments: music archive: 89,981 units with a duration of 16,472 hours, "spoken" archive: 38,378 units with a duration of 363,602 hours. The records are compartmentalized according to a thematic structure. The emblematic shows of the station are also arranged in compartments such as: Historical, Literary, Musical, Theater, Children, Youth, National Minorities, etc.

Currently, Radio Moldova broadcasts medium AM waves - three frequencies with wide coverage throughout the country, but also in neighboring countries, as well as numerous short FM frequencies, which also cover the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova. Previously, Radio Moldova also broadcast ultra-shortwave.
