Exhibition dedicated to Moldovan writer, filmmaker opened

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/- The National Library of the Republic of Moldova opened today the exhibition of books and periodicals entitled -Emil Loteanu, the romantic of Moldovan cinema, dedicated to the 85th birth anniversary of filmmaker and writer.

Ludmila Erușevschi, curator of the exhibition, mentioned that it includes the most representative publications from the poet's work (about 100 documents), screenwriter Emil Loteanu, memories and interviews of personalities about the protagonist, which allow rediscovering and re-evaluating the invaluable treasure I inherited it from the master.


He is the author of countless films and short films presented at about 50 festivals and film retrospectives in many cities around the world such as: Buenos Aires, Baltimore, Budapest, Helsinki, Tokyo, London, Montreal, Paris, Rome, Rio de Janeiro, and all the republics of the former USSR.


He was awarded the title of Emeritus Master of Art in the MSSR (1969), People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1980), the title of honorary member of the Nike International Film Academy. He was also awarded the State Prize, the Order of the Republic, and in 2001 - the Prize for excellence in directing art, awarded at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest. He was declared "the best director of the twentieth century in Romanian cinema". Emil Loteanu died on April 18, 2003, in a hospital in Moscow, being buried in the Vagankovo ​​cemetery in the Russian capital.

The exhibition will be open until December 3.
