Authorities examined development of water supply project of Edinet

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/- In Edinet, the construction-assembly works within the project for the improvement of water supply services, financed by the European Union, are in full swing. In the locality, 40 km of water supply networks are to be rehabilitated and extended, which, through the approximately 2800 connections will provide with safe drinking water 18,235 inhabitants of the city.
Yesterday, at the North Regional Development Agency (ADR), a working meeting was held with the participation of the director and specialists of the institution, the mayor of Edinet, the contractor performing the works to improve water supply services, representatives of the project Modernization of Local Public Services (MSPL), regional consultants of the Agency for International Cooperation of Germany (GIZ) Moldova and management of the water and sanitation service in Edinet.
The participants in the meeting discussed the current situation regarding the execution of construction-assembly works within the project. In this context, the economic operator informed that the works, started at the end of September 2021, are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the technical project and gave assurances that his team takes into account the project implementation schedule, which includes 10 calendar months from its start.
The value of the enterprise contract from Edinet amounts to 57.98 million lei, of which eight million lei represents the co-financing from the City Hall of Edinet.
The investment measure Improving water supply services in the city of Edinet is funded by the European Union and implemented by RDA North and the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova. It is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova.
