Political rerpersentatives at negotiations on Transnistrian settlement have meeting

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - A working meeting of the political representatives in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement has taken place at the Chisinau-based headquarters of the OSCE Mission, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.  

The sides discussed aspects on the boosting of the sectoral working groups and welcomed the recent re-launch of the work of the experts in the economy sphere and social issues. The sides also agreed on summoning, starting from the next week, of other groups (education, human rights, healthcare, ecology, railway transport, customs issues, etc.) and highlighted the predisposition for a constructive activity, with achieving concrete results.          

In the context, Chisinau stressed, in particular, the need to endow the Latin-script schools with proper  buildings, which are to meet the education standards and observe the children’s rights, ensuring the free movement, removing the technical obstacles to trade, organizing joint measures of combating COVID-19, distributing humanitarian assistance and doses of vaccine and settling other problems too.     

The political representatives discussed the problems related to vehicles. Chisinau noted that the special efforts had been aimed at optimizing the work of the points for registration of transport means from the Tiraspol and Rabnita cities. The sides emphasized that Chisinau had created possibility of issuance of a string of additional certificates, directly at the headquarters of the registration points, which significantly simplifies the process of issuance of neutral plates. The sides also underlined the cutting of the tariffs for the providing of public services, possibility of benefiting from services in shorter periods, as well as other technical solutions.       

As for the subject of ambulances endowed with special equipment, the sides specified that proper options and solutions had been elaborated, on which presently consultations are held at the legislative level and the dialogue on the vehicles and commercial vehicles will continue also on the next period.       

As far as the organization of the next round of negotiations in the 5+2 format is concerned, the sides said that consultations were presently held on the subject and an official answer would be given in the near future.    

The political representatives also discussed perspectives of the launch of a project on the opening of a trolley bus line between the Varnita village and Bender city, with the financial support of international partners. The sides reached compromise on the need to ensure the free movement on the possible route and stressed the necessity to continue the work on the concerned project, in order to coordinate the technical details.    

The political representatives agreed that the up-to-date issues on the agenda of consultations would continue on the next period too.
