Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - A parliamentary commission will monitor the carrying out of the policies of Moldova’s reintegration. The commission was set up at a proposal by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

”So far, the parliament has been less involved in everything dealing with the parliamentary control of the Transnistrian settlement process. To give valence to this process, we suggested creation of a commission due to have in its focus the carrying out of the policies of Moldova’s reintegration. In this way, we will exercise the right of parliamentary control and will contribute to the process of rapprochement of the two banks of Dniester not ad-hoc, but permanently,’’ Grosu said.

The commission will monitor and assess the present situation as to the reintegration policies, will work out proposals and recommendations and will inform the standing bureau and, as case may be, the parliament’s plenum about its activity and the principal topical subjects dealing with the reintegration policies. In cooperation with the authorities in charge of the concerned sector, the commission will contribute to identifying projects and solutions, which would allow re-acquiring the confidence and the getting closer of the citizens from the two banks of Dniester.

Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popsoi was elected head of the commission, Deputy Speaker Vlad Batrincea – deputy head and Ana Calinici (Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Faction) was elected secretary of this commission. The commission is also made up of MPs Ana Racu, Natalia Davidovici, Oazu Nantoi and Vladimir Bolea (PAS Faction), Constantin Staris and Adrian Lebedinschi (parliamentary faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists) and Denis Ulanov (parliamentary faction of the Shor Party).
