Livada Moldovei project to be extended until 2023

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the Law for ratification of Amendment No3 to the Financing Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Investment Bank for the implementation of Livada Moldovei Project and the Second Amendment to its Cover Letter were published in the Official Journal today and entered into force.

According to the document, the EIB will provide the disbursed amounts from the project loan in about 35 installments. The resources are intended for the modernization and restructuring of the value chain of the horticultural sector of the Republic of Moldova by facilitating access to credit and leasing resources provided by the EIB.

The changes aimed at the successful implementation of Livada Moldovei project and the use of EIB resources for the restructuring of the horticultural and viticultural sector of the Republic of Moldova. The aim is the technologicalization and mechanization of primary production processes by promoting intensive and super-intensive methods of fruit production, endowment with irrigation and anti-hail systems, modernization and technologicalization of post-harvest and processing processes, development of nurseries for the production of local seed , diversification of sales markets.

The financing contract with the EIB for the implementation of Livada Moldovei project was signed on July 31, 2014. Its value is 120 million euros.
