Moldovan-Latvian cooperation relations discussed at parliament

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has met Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts. The discussions were focused on the present stage of the Moldovan-Latvian cooperation relations and opportunities of their extension, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.  

Igor Grosu spoke out for the turning to good account of the cooperation potential through paying mutual visits at the level of the parliament’s leaderships, competent parliamentary commissions, friendship groups and civil servants of the parliament’s secretariats.

Referring to the priorities of the parliament of the 11th legislative period, Igor Grosu spoke about the reformation of justice. ‘’This is the foremost goal of the governance, the achievement of which will lead to progress in other sectors,’’ the parliament speaker said.   

The speaker also noted, among the Moldovan leadership’s priorities, the ensuring of the energy security and creation of an attractive business climate.  

For his part, the Latvian diplomat expressed his country’s willingness to further share the experience and provide needed support, so that Moldova advances on the way of the European modernization.

In particular, the parliament speaker thanked Latvia for the support provided to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The officials were unanimous as to the importance of the correct informing of the population about the vital need of the immunization.
