Group exhibition by Moldovan painters inaugurated in Qatar

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Embassy in the State of Qatar, in cooperation with the Chisinau-based National Art Museum and with the support of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, has recently organized in Doha the first exhibition of contemporary painting from Moldova in Qatar titled, Connections.  

The exhibition presents the works of nine representative artists from Moldova: Sergiu Cuciuc, Vladimir Palamarciuc, Mihai Țăruș, Simion Zamșa, Veaceslav Fisticanu, Igor Svernei, Nicolae Baciu, Iaroslav Streleț, Tudor Zbârnea. They are brought together in a joint artistic context, with works oriented to a variety of styles and ideas. The exhibition comprised 42 works.   

According to the website of Moldova’s Embassy, at the event, in the presence of  the director general of the Katara Foundation, Dr. professor Khalid Al Sulaiti, director of the National Art Museum of Moldova, Tudor Zbarnea, and painter Nicolae Baciu, Moldova’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar Victor Tvircun noted that this cultural event represented an evidence of the ascendant bilateral relations between Moldova and Qatar. At the same time, he also said that such initiatives were part of the close cultural cooperation between the two countries. On behalf of Moldova, the diplomat expressed thanks to the Qatari authorities for the full support in the organization of this exhibition.       

The exhibition will be opened till 15 November.
