Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu participated today in opening of the European Integration Forum 2021 edition, the presidential press service has reported.

In her speech, entitled -The path to a European future for Moldova, the head of state said that the Republic of Moldova has clearly chosen the European development model - which means high living standards for people, strong institutions, functional justice and law enforcement - and wants to be a credible and predictable partner for the European Union, which supports us in this way. In the coming years, the priority, but also the challenge of the country, is to use the opportunities offered by the relationship with the European institutions.

"Our partners are better prepared to help us, seeing the firm intention of the people to clean up the state and ensure the European modernization of the country, as well as our commitment to carry out the will of the citizens," the head of state said.

Maia Sandu appreciated the consistent good faith relationship with the European Union, the most important partner for the Republic of Moldova, stating that the implementation of the Economic Recovery Plan can help us restore the capacity of our economy after the pandemic crisis and adapt the country's economic system to modern market.

"Several years of reforms and reconstruction of the country await us. There will be years with major challenges, but also years in which we can lay the foundations of a renewed state - more resistant, more transparent, more prosperous, more friendly with its citizens ", said Maia Sandu.
