Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/- The transport and communication department of the Chisinau Municipal Council will inventory and evaluate the existing road traffic signs on the capital's streets.

Mayor Ion Ceban said he requested the inventory of road signs in the city after finding out that a traffic sign installed on Mihai Eminescu Street was contested by road agents, and several drivers were fined. "Drivers parked according to the installed road sign, and the police explained to them that it was illegal. Drivers had to pay fines. It is clear that drivers do not have to guess whether or not a traffic sign installed by the municipality is legal ", said Ceban.

The mayor of the capital requested that the road signs installed arbitrarily or illegally be removed, and where they need to be installed, be procured and applied according to all legal norms. "At the same time, we requested that the traffic signs that will be installed correspond to the signs marked on asphalt, especially since road marking works are being carried out on several streets," he said.

At the same time, Ceban urged drivers to respect traffic signs, including those marked on asphalt, and not to park cars where this is prohibited. "I am against illegal parking, including on sidewalks, but I am also against illegalities committed against drivers," Ceban said.
