Moldovan president urges young people from Moldova to join national campaign on country's greening

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu urges young people to join the national campaign on the country’s greening, which starts on 13 November. The head of state on 8 November sent a message to this end, meant for the pupils and students’ councils from all over Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.  

To join the greening campaign, young people will contact the mayoralty, in order to learn where and when the greening actions will be organized in their settlement and they can go outdoors to plant trees along with friends and family, colleagues and teachers.

 „We will plant together, in all regions of the country, more than five million trees, thus contributing to the regeneration of thousands of hectares of forests. It is our chance to live in a clean, green and developed country,’’ the Moldovan president said in her message.

All interested people can join the national campaign of the country’s greening by contacting the local authority from their settlement and following information about the greening campaign on the webpage www.mediu.gov.md. Presently, only 11 per cent of Moldova’s area is covered with forests.
