Children from Ungheni participated in sanitation, landscaping of city

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- Children from a kindergarten in Ungheni, together with educators, recently participated in a sanitation and landscaping activity. It was part of a cross-border project under the Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Program 2014-2020.
According to the town hall, the children managed to bring in order the green spaces near the kindergarten and the square of the Music School, where they usually make small trips.
"The action aimed to educate children among the responsibility and care for the environment. Thus, the educators offered the children and passers-by an example of civic involvement and environmentally friendly behavior ", says the city administration.
The activity was part of the project Partnership against waste for green rural areas, implemented by the city of Tskaltubo (Georgia) in partnership with REC Caucasus Armenia (Armenia), Ungheni City Hall (Republic of Moldova), Tehnopol Galati Association (Romania) and the People's Union of Science Imereti Spectri (Georgia), within the Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020.
The Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Program 2014-2020 is funded by the European Union and has a budget of 49 million euros. Within the Program, 55 projects were selected for funding. The Republic of Moldova also participated in the first Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin, implemented in 2007-2013, and last year the project entered the programming phase for 2021-2027.
