Local authorities renovated fountain at Maria Bieşu's house in Volintiri

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- The fountain in front of parents' house of departed Primadone of the National Opera Maria Bieșu from Volintiri village was renovated with sources from the local budget and with the support of the Ștefan Vodă District Council.
The repair works of the fountain were estimated at 98,400 lei. The district council allocated 53,400 lei, and the contribution of Volintiri city hall was 45 thousand lei.
Maria Bieșu was born on August 3, 1935, in Volontiri village, Cetatea Albă county, Romania (currently Volintiri village, Ștefan Vodă district, Republic of Moldova), in the family of Luca and Tatiana Bieșu. She died on May 16, 2012, from an incurable disease.
She remained the Primadona of the National Opera, she is a People's Artist, winner of the State Awards, knight of the Order of the Republic, holder of the National Order Star of Romania. She was a university professor, academician, Doctor Honoris Causa.
