Awarding of National Prize 2021 held at Moldovan government

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/ - The laureates of the National Prize for 2021 today were paid homage at an event organized at the government’s headquarters. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita congratulated those seven winners of the contest, whom she handed the National Prize 2021 and thanked them for the significant contribution in the sectors of work and promotion of Moldova’s image, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

„We need, maybe more than ever, mobilization to edify a worthy future at home. The support and cultivation of the human heritage is a priority of the government. I am honoued to speak now to people who have a major impact in the development of science, technologies, culture, art and sport. To those who, through their activity, contribute to the consolidation of our national values and of Moldova’s image,’’ PM Gavrilita said.

Those seven laureates of the National Prize for this year are: Ghenadie Jaloba, Petru Neamțu, Anastasia Nichita, Tudor Cîrlan, Maria Șleahtițchi, Vitalie Ciobanu and the staff of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre Public Institution.

The prime minister noted that Moldova had a huge potential and can become a recognized provider of highly qualitative cultural products on the European market. She also said that the government’s team was working to initiate investment projects in creative industries, in the protection and promotion of the cultural heritage, in ensuring the principles of integrity and correctness in the sports activity and in its governance, in the efficient promotion of the beneficial role of the physical activity for the residents’ health.   

„You, the laureates of the National Prize, have given the community, during the career, moments of happiness and achievement, works and achievements which touched souls and made the country richer, proved impressive results in the fields of fine arts, music, theatre, sport and journalism,’’ the prime minister said.      

The government has also the goal to rehabilitate the community centres in villages and towns, libraries and sports fields and turning them into active cultural community centres, in order to improve the quality of people’s life both in rural area and in urban ones.  

The National Prize, worth 100,000 lei, is annually provided by the government as a token of gratitude for the outstanding results, which substantially contributed to the promotion of the country’s image internationally and had a considerable impact on the scientific progress.
