Moldovan parliament ratifies agreement on partnership between Moldova and United Kingdom

Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ - The agreement on strategic partnership, trade and cooperation between Moldova and the United Kingdom was voted in the parliament in the second reading today.

The agreement’s goal is to ensure the continuity of the bilateral relations between Moldova and the UK on the post-Brexit period.

The document establishes the legal framework of cooperation and contains the creation of a free comprehensive trade area for the liberalization of the access to market, in the conditions coming from the sides’ status of member of the World Trade Organization.

The document proposes also the setting up of a committee on strategic cooperation, made up of government representatives and high-ranking civil servants, who will monitor the enforcement of the agreement’s provisions.

Moldova signed the agreement on strategic partnership, trade and cooperation between Moldova and the United Kingdom on 24 December 2020.
