Moldovan PM attends meeting of CIS Council of Heads of Government

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/- The prospects for boosting trade and economic cooperation were addressed by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in teleconference, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Natalia Gavrilița said that the Republic of Moldova continues to opt within the CIS for the dynamization of trade-economic and social-humanitarian relations.form, facilitating the exchange of goods, eliminating barriers and impediments to the movement of goods, services and people, in open and mutually beneficial cooperation. I am convinced that we, the Heads of Government, are responsible for the citizens of our states to feel in a practical way the results of the work done together ", Gavrilița said.
An exchange of information and opinions was made regarding the evolution of the epidemiological situation and the effects of the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the infection on economic processes.
"I express my gratitude to our CIS partners who provide assistance and support to the Republic of Moldova in the efforts of the authorities to manage the pandemic crisis and mitigate its consequences on the population. In the current unfavorable conditions, our common goal is to combine efforts in minimizing the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy of our states ", Gavrilița said.
The official signed together with counterparts from the CIS countries agreements focused on boosting collaboration in health, culture and railway infrastructure.
December 8 marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement establishing the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Republic of Moldova ratified the Agreement in April 1994.
