Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Health Ministry’s (MS) leadership at a today’s news conference informed that, following verifications, over 200 deaths registered during 2020-2021 and non-reported had been detected.

Health Minister Ala Nemerenco said that the deficiencies reported appeared, as the information had been supplied with delay, given that several cases needed more investigations.

"Some notes received at the National Public Health Agency (ANSP) from medical institutions did not contain data necessary and were returned for revision. Another problem represented the deaths at home, which implied more bureaucratic procedures. Some deaths got to be introduced after several days, weeks; we also have cases of deaths reported at a distance of one year,’’ Nemerenco said.

The health minister specified that the errors from statistics dealt with the human factor; yet, sanctions will not be imposed to anybody. ‘’The ministry’s figures never showed the deaths registered in the last 24 hours, only the ones which were reported. Neither those 51 deaths recorded two days ago were registered at that time. And only 15 deaths out of 70 were recorded in the last 24 hours. We are sure that reportings for these days will come on the next days,’’ Nemerenco added.

According to official data, 8,323 people died of the new-type coronavirus in Moldova so far.
