Head of Moldova's National Public Security Inspectorate dismissed from office

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - Interior Minister Ana Revenco today issued an order on the dismissal of the head of the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP), Constantin Turcanu. Vitalie Timotin will hold the office of interim head.

Revenco noted that the INSP employees were the ones with whom people interact every day, on whose professionalism and integrity depend the degree of confidence the citizens will have in all Interior Ministry (MAI) employees.

“This is a difficult period, of transition from noxious practices and habits to a dignified police, able to provide people with security and public order and only just and professional people will hold leadership offices,’’ the minister added.

MAI informs that, this week, more INSP patrol officers were caught in action and detained. They are involved in complicity with an organized crime ring of contraband.
