Moldovan authorities verify roadmen's preparation for winter season

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu, along with the acting director general of the State Administration of Roads (ASD), Sergiu Bejan, have visited the stock company Drumuri Criuleni (Criuleni Roads), in order to verify the enterprise’s preparation for the cold season 2021-2022.   

“I find out that the things are not quite good, especially as regards the technical endowment. We will continue the visits also to other enterprises in charge of roads’ maintenance. At the same time, next week, I will meet the directors of the enterprises, in order to analyze the needs and measures which must be undertaken to ensure a proper movement on the country’s roads during winter,’’ Andrei Spinu said.  

To carry out works of clearing snow and distribution of anti-skid material on public roads, the Drumuri Criuleni stock company plans to involve 53 vehicles and road technology units. The enterprise’s director, Alexandru Popov, informed that over 1,895 tons of anti-skid material 1,833 tons of technical salt and 2,972 tons of sand were presently prepared to combat glazed frost on public roads. More technical salt and sand is to be purchased.   

“We permanently monitor the companies’ preparation for the winter season, in order to make sure that we will remove quickly all difficulties in traffic on this period. To this end, a 24-hour service of the ASD works starting from November 2021, in order to quickly inform about the conditions of road traffic on the winter period,’’ Sergiu Bejan added.
