Moldovan president meets French counterpart in Paris

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with President of France Emmanuel Macron, during a visit paid to Paris on these days, on the occasion of participation in the Peace Forum, the presidential press service has reported.
The two heads of state tackled more subjects concerning the boosting of the bilateral relations. The Moldovan and French presidents discussed opportunities of cooperation with France in the sectors of infrastructure, digitalization, security and energy efficiency. ‘’We are happy that the French Development Agency (AFD) has already started working in Moldova and that it will finance including projects on local infrastructure, irrigation and afforestation,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
Maia Sandu thanked President Macron for openness to help Moldova in its efforts to combat the corruption. In the context, the two presidents discussed the development of the cooperation between the law-enforcement bodies from the two countries. ‘’The turning to good account of these efforts will allow reestablishing the work of justice in Moldova and we further focus on the development of our country’s potential,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
France is an important strategic partner for Moldova and a friendly country which backs the efforts of cleaning the state and Moldova’s development according to the European model.
