Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/- Fifty-two assets, worth over 486 million lei, made unavailable by the Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets (ARBI), belonging to former leader of PDM Vlad Plahotniuc remain under seizure.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, the Constitutional Court recently declared inadmissible the requests of the former Democratic leader's lawyer, who asked the supreme court to rule on alleged violations, admitted by state bodies in relation to the actual beneficiary of the seized property.
The lawyer argued that the contested rules allow the application of the seizure on the property of persons who do not have any status in the criminal case in which the application of the seizure is requested. In the notifications it was mentioned that these provisions violate the person's right of free access to justice, the right to know his rights and duties and the right to property. However, the court considered all the complaints inadmissible.
Thus, based on the delegations of the prosecutors, within the criminal cases on bank fraud, ARBI made unavailable 52 goods, which would belong to Vlad Plahotniuc. These include 11 cars, 11 buildings, a non-residential room, five share capitals, 17 residential and non-residential buildings, and four bank accounts. Of the total number of goods, 41 were identified in the country, in Switzerland seven, one in France and three in Romania.
