Two Moldovan political formations deprived of financing from state budget for six months

Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has deprived two political formations of financing from the state budget for six months.   

The CEC members sanctioned with warning the electoral contender, Political Party WE, for the non-submission of the report on the financing of the electoral campaign at the new local elections due on 21 November 2021 or the information on the non-collection of incomes and non-carrying out of the expenses for the period 26-29 October 2021.   

Also, CEC obliged the WE Party to present, in a 24-hour term, the report on the financing of the electoral campaign at the new local polls due on 21 November 2021 or, as case may be, to inform the Commission about the non-collection of the incomes and non-carrying out of the spending for the period 26-29 October, 30 October – 5 November and 6-12 November 2021 or about the fact that it will not open an account with the specification, Electoral Fund, at the bank. In the context, the WE Party was imposed an additional sanction in form of deprivation of allocations from the state budget for a period of six months.    

At the same time, the central electoral authority has repeatedly imposed the sanction in form of warning to the Party of Working People Political Party for the non-observance of the provisions regarding the financing of the electoral campaign and failure to submit the information on the opening of the bank account with the specification, Electoral Fund. The contender was obliged to present, in a 24-hour period, the information on the non-collection of incomes and non-carrying out of expenses for the period 30 October – 5 November 2021 or about the fact whether it opened an account with the specification, Electoral Fund, at the bank.  CEC imposed the additional sanction to the party’s in form of deprivation from allocations from the state budget for a period of six months.
