Moldovan tax body to boost actions to reduce arrears of real estate tax

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- The State Tax Service (SFS) organized a working meeting attended by 150 tax collectors. The meeting focused on issues related to the recovery of debts on real estate tax / land tax from individual taxpayers-citizens, the problems they face in the work process and improvement solutions.

Also, during the meeting were discussed the difficulties encountered by tax collectors in their daily work, mentioning in this regard the need to update / improve the electronic services they work with, so that they have available all the information necessary to perform tasks.

SFS director Rozalina Albu thanked the tax collectors for receptivity and involvement in recovering debts for the real estate tax / land tax from individual-citizen taxpayers. "We want to reach as many taxpayers as possible through you, to inform them about the registered arrears, thus avoiding the situation when these obligations will be enforced," said Albu.

Executive director of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova Viorel Furdui mentioned the importance of this meeting, emphasizing that the real estate tax / land tax is a local tax, and local public authorities want to provide all necessary support in recovering debts of private people.

In the next two weeks, tax collectors will contact taxpayers who are in arrears with real estate tax / land tax and inform them about this fact, as well as how to settle these obligations. At the same time, the tax collectors will provide the necessary support in order to verify the correctness of all calculations prior to the initiation of the enforcement procedure of the respective tax obligations.
