Anthology of Romanian poetry in Bessarabia published in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/ - A volume titled, ”Antologia poeziei românești din Basarabia (1770 - 2020)” (Romanian Poetry’s Anthology in Bessarabia (1770-2020) has appeared at a publishing house from the Moldovan capital.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, editor Gheorghe Prini said the volume had 408 pages and had been published in a number of 1,000 copies. A new editorial collection titled, Romanian Literature in Bessarabia, was inaugurated with this anthology.  

Gheorghe Prini noted that, following the anthology, The Literature from Bessarabia in the 20th Century. Poetry, published in 2004, the famous critic, literary historian, poet Nicolae Leahu returned now with the second selection, which extends the mapping of the lyrical area between Prut and Dniester starting from the 18th century.   

Nicolae Leahu was born in the Badicul Moldovenesc village, southern Cahul region, on 20 July 1963. In 1985, he graduated from the Balti-based State University, Philology Faculty. Leahu made his editorial debut in 1993 with poems, followed by books, a critical study, a ludic essay, etc. He was awarded the Prize of Moldova’s Writers’ Union.
