Moldovan fine artist inaugurates exhibition

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - An anniversary painting and sculpture exhibition titled, Transcendence, by fine artist Gheorghe Postovanu, holder of the Order of Honour and of more national and international prizes, was inaugurated at the Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre today.    

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Gheorghe Postovanu said the exhibition comprised 35 painting works and 50 sculpture ones.  

In 2020, Gheorghe Postovanu made 15 works, of which 10 painting and five sculpture ones.  

Gheorghe Postovanu was born in the Satul Nou village, southern Cimislia district, on 1 June 1960. During 1983-1990, he studied at the Fine Arts Faculty of the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University and the Fine Arts Faculty of the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts from Chisinau. In 1988, he deputed with the Spring Saloons at the Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre. In 1990, he became member of the Fine Arts Union of Moldova and in 1997 – member of the UNESCO International Association of Art.          

Postovanu participated in more national and international exhibitions. He is the author of the monument to Stephen the Great from Balti and the one from Cimislia, of the bust to actor Mihai Volontir from Balti and other sculpture works. The fine artist made public forum works in Australia, Cyprus, Greece, Moldova and other countries. In 2002 and 2004, Postovanu was nominated by the Fine Artists’ Union as Sculptor of the Year. In 2004, he was awarded the Order of Honour and the Prize of the Culture Ministry.   

The exhibition will be open till 5 December.
