Chisinau-Bucharest train to resume moving on 12 December 2021

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Railway of Moldova (CFM) state enterprise informs passengers that, starting from 12 December 2021, the movement of the Chisinau-Bucharest train will be resumed. Till 31 December, the train will move twice a week, leaving in Chisinau on Thursdays and Sundays and setting out from Bucharest on Mondays and Fridays.  

According to the institution, as of 2 January 2022, the train will move thrice a week, leaving in Chisinau on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and setting out in Bucharest on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The trains will leave in Chisinau at 17:20 and will arrive in Bucharest at 6:17. Respectively, it will set out in Bucharest at 19:20 and will arrive in Chisinau at 8:15.

The cost of one travel has remained the same – the SMART tariff (non-refundable) – 19 euros; the price of a ticket in carriage with compartments is 580 lei, and 670 lei in the upholstered carriage. Children with ages between 4 and 12 years will benefit from a 40-per cent cut in price. Starting from today, tickets can be bought at booking offices of the railway station and as of 6 December, also via Internet, by accessing the website www.cfm.md.    

Also, at the Chisinau railway station, people can buy travel documents for trains moving from Bucharest to Budapest, Sofia, Vienna and further, with transshipment to any other routes from the European countries, CFM said.

The border train Iasi-Ungheni will start moving daily concomitantly with the train No 105/106 Chisinau-Bucharest.

Starting from March 2020 till present, the movement of the passenger trains in international traffic has been suspended in Chisinau. Starting from 28 August 2021, the movement of the Chisinau-Odessa train was resumed. The administration of the Railway of Moldova state enterprise does its utmost to resume the movement of trains also in relations with other states – Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, according to a press release by the enterprise.
