Policemen make raids to more clandesine casinos in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - Officers of the National Inspectorate of Investigations (INI), under the leadership of prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) and the support of masked policemen of the Fulger Special Police Brigade, on 10-20 November carried out a joint operation, within which they made raids to more clandestine casinos, including in the Chisinau municipality, Comrat and Soroca districts.     

According to the police, in one of the cases, policemen disclosed the illegal activity of a casino hall in a room from Chisinau. Following searches, policemen detected 11 people and raised 6 poker tables, poker chips, money, mobile phones, etc.   

Another raid took place in the Chirsova settlement, Comrat district, where a gambling hall was carrying out its illegal activity in a room. At the moment of the operation, policemen found 15 persons in the hall. Also, more type of drugs, a hand-made apparatus for consuming marijuana, a dagger, more mobile phones, gambling chips, as well as about 40,000 lei were raised.  

According to the quoted source, criminal prosecution actions are presently carried out, in order to establish all circumstances and call the guilty people to account.
