Chisinau, 23 November / MOLDPRES / - The Ministry of Environment today relaunched campaign for separate collection of office waste, which will later be handed over for recycling. This is part of the actions of the European Waste Recycling Week 2021, held at European level on 20 -28 November.

In order to promote the principles of green offices and green assemblies, prevent the formation and efficiency of waste recovery in central public institutions, an order will be set up within the Ministry of Environment, which will include prevention, separate collection and recycling of paper, plastic, glass and electrical and electronic equipment.

The waste management strategy in the Republic of Moldova for 2013-2027 provides: promotion and implementation of selective collection systems in all localities, both in the household and in the production sector; increasing the degree of reuse and recovery of packaging by 20% by 2027.

The Ministry of Environment proposes that this example and process be taken over and carried out within central and local public authorities, buildings, private companies, public associations, etc., so as to increase the efficiency of waste recovery, increase the level of information and awareness of officials and the public in this area, to promote the circular economy and reduce the impact on the environment.
