Moldova's Superior Council of Prosecutors sets up commission for evaluation of prosecutor general's performances

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) today set up the commission for the evaluation of the performances of the suspended prosecutor general, Alexandr Stoianoglo.   

The CSP’s meeting had one subject on its agenda – the creation of the commission. Thus, under the today’s decision, the commission will be made up of an  international anticorruption expert, Drago Kos, put forward by President Maia Sandu; lawyer Angela Popil, put forward by the Justice Ministry; lawyer Ion Matusenco, put up by the suspended prosecutor general, Alexandr Stoianoglo; an adviser of the Chief Prosecutor of the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), Romania, Mariana Alexandru, put forward by the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the former acting president of the Chisinau Court of Appeal, Lidia Bulhac, put forward by the Superior Council of Magistracy.      

On 22 November, CSP approved the regulation on the procedure of evaluation of the Prosecutor General’s performances.

According to the latest amendments to the legislation, the prosecutor general’s performances are to be assessed and if he gets the mark failed, CSP will propose his dismissal from office.
