Representatives, graduates of George C. Marshall Center met in Chisinau

Chisinau, 24 November / MOLDPRES /- The European Center for Security Studies George C. Marshall, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, the Agency for Military Science and Memory and the Association George C. Marshall - Republic of Moldova organized in Chisinau the 18th conference dedicated to current challenges national security.

The event, which took place yesterday, November 23, at the headquarters of the Agency for Military Science and Memory, brought together representatives of several ministries, military and civilian experts, representatives of the Parliamentary Commission for National Security, Defense and Public Order, officials of diplomatic missions in Moldova and graduates of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.

The agenda of the conference included topics related to current challenges to national security and the identification of strategic interests, the Security Strategy and others.

Present at the activity, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi said the importance of the discussions within the conference, which ensures a better understanding of the contemporary context of international, regional and internal security in which we operate. "These approaches will help us strengthen the security system in the Republic of Moldova according to the best practices of a democratic government. In this context, I reiterate that the programs and initiatives offered by the international community, especially by the European Center for Security Studies George C. Marshall, have been and continue to be important for the effective implementation of the planned actions", said Nosatîi.

On this occasion, Nosatii thanked the governments of the United States of America and Germany for their continued support of training programs for the representatives of the Republic of Moldova.

So far, about 280 soldiers, policemen and civil servants from Moldova have studied at the European Center for Security Studies George C. Marshall. The institution, founded in 1993 in Germany, aims to create a stable security environment, promote democratic mechanisms and sustainable partnerships in several states, including our country.
