Moldovan MPs vote 2022 state budget law in first reading

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - The law on state budget for 2022 today was approved in the first reading with 57 votes.  

The document sees that the state budget revenues next year will be 50.1 billion lei, up by 9.2 per cent against this year. The overall expenses are estimated at 65.2 billion lei, by 13.1 per cent more against 2021. The state budget deficit is envisaged at 15.1 billion lei.

In terms of expenses, allocations are provided for the increase in the assistance for the cold period of the year and increasing the number beneficiaries of this help. Also, decision-makers will continue the partial compensation for the households of the costs of the gas and thermal energy invoices.

The main sources of financing the budget deficit will be external and domestic sources. The state debt’s balance on 31 December 2022 will be 103.3 billion lei and will not exceed 40.4 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product.   

At the same time, for 2022, the government forecasts an economic growth of 4.5 per cent, an annual average inflation of 6.9 per cent, an increase in exports of 10.6 per cent and a 5.1-per cent growth of imports, as well as a 10-per cent increase of the average salary on the economy against this year.
