Government decides to earmark 1.3 billion lei for transfer of Termoelectrica's debt to Moldovagaz company

Chisinau, Nov. 26 / MOLDPRES /- The Cabinet of Ministers approved today a draft decision on earmarking financial means and conclusion of a transaction, which provides for solving the problem of uninterrupted supply of consumers with gas and avoiding the cessation of their delivery, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

To avoid the gas crisis, it was decided to transfer to Energocom the arrears held by Moldovagaz towards Termoelectrica, created as a result of the previous delivery of gas, with a total nominal value of 1,330,621,613.66.

The debts were formed in 2002-2008, on account of the gas delivery by Moldovagaz company to Termoelectrica. Debts are confirmed by court decisions and are under execution. In the near future, Energocom together with Termoelectrica will sign an Agreement containing the schedule for the repayment of the arrears.
