Nineteen special vehicles to be purchased for Moldova's General Inspectoate for Emergency Situations with Japan's support

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - Nineteen special vehicles will be purchased for the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), based on a grant worth 240 million lei provided by the government of Japan.   

Today, Interior Minister Ana Revenco signed the documents necessary for initiating the project between the cabinets of the two countries, titled, Improvement of fire prevention equipment.  

According to Revenco, the special vehicles are to be bought from Japan and will reach six regions of Moldova, where they will serve about one million citizens. Ten special vehicles are ladders and the other nine ones – tank trucks. The quantity and type of the special vehicles, the subdivisions where they will be placed were analyzed by a team of experts, made up of Japanese as well.

„The joint team worked in Moldova for more than one month and visited practically all IGSU subdivisions, where it studied the peculiarities of the regions served by rescuers and firemen,’’ Ana Revenco noted.

She specified that, through this project, the quality of services provided to the residents would be improved. The minister added that the rescuers and firemen from Moldova would be trained by Japanese specialists to use the new special vehicles.
