Moldovan literary historian says re-puts in circulation more classical, contemporary authors

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - A literary historian, book editor, curator, publicist, translator, coordinator of the collections Moștenire” (Heritage) and ”Memoriile Basarabiei (Bessarabia’s Memories) of the Știința (Science) publishing house Mihai Papuc has re-put in circulation more volumes of works by Bessarabian writers and publicists.        

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Mihai Papuc said that the Heritage collection brought together great Romanian classical writers, as well as almost unknown writers to readers of Moldova, in a special and wide collection, which comprises their fundamental works, accompanied by introductory studies and chronological lists with the most important data from the lives and works of the concerned writer, notes commentaries and historical and literary benchmarks, which facilitate the readers’ familiarization with the work and literary context of the concerned author.   

Mihai Papuc was born in the Manzatesti village, central Ungheni district, on 29 November 1946. He graduated from the Philology Faculty of the Moldovan State University. In 1971-1990, he worked at the Dimitrie Cantemir Republican Literature Museum (presently Mihail Kogalniceanu), and held more positions there. Since 1991, he has been working at the Știința editorial and poly-graphic enterprise. In 2016, Mihai Papuc was awarded the Labour Glory order. He is member of the Moldovan Writers’ Union.
