Employee from Edineț detained by CNA after extorting 900 euros for driving license

Chisinau, Nov. 30 / MOLDPRES /- An employeel from Edineț is under criminal investigation by CNA officers and anti-corruption prosecutors for influence peddling. He allegedly extorted 900 euros for a driver's license.

According to CNA, the man allegedly claimed to have influence over the employees of the Department of Transport Registration and Driver Qualification in Balti and that he could successfully hold the theoretical and practical tests, with the subsequent issuance of the category B driving license.

The man was recognized as a suspect, and if found guilty, he faces up to six years in prison.

In 2020-2021, the anti-corruption officers documented over 100 cases, mainly of influence peddling, regarding the actions of the persons involved in the fraudulent obtaining of driving licenses.
