Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita, along with her counterparts from Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, and Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, have had a meeting with European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels, in order to reconfirm the common political message on the eve of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The three prime ministers of the Associated Trio presented to the European Council President the common goals of cooperation, both on the period till the EaP Summit, due in December, and following this event.

In the context, a special subject was the preparation for the summit and the negotiations on the Joint Declaration. Natalia Gavrilita said that the event was of major importance for Moldova. She voiced confidence that the summit would boost and advance the dialogue with the EaP countries in more sectors: digitalization, energy, connectivity, as well as management of the pandemic situation.

In particular, the Moldovan PM stressed the need to prioritize the fields which can have a direct impact on the citizens and which, at the same time, have potential to get Moldova closer to EU, for instance, the cutting of the roaming tariffs between EU and the EaP partners, joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and other sectors.
