Moldovan writer edits novel in Chisinau, two Romanian cities

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - Writer, psychologist, teacher, PhD in psychological sciences Aurelian Silvestru has lately edited a novel titled, Actorul anonim (The Anonymous Actor), in Chisinau, Iasi and Targoviste (Romania).

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Aurelian Silvestru said the aforementioned publication comprised 258 pages and was a suggestive novel, a palpitating story about the power and magic of the art, talent, labour, inspiration; the artist’s relation with the society, divinity and his/her own conscience.    

Also in 2021, Aurelian Silvestru edited two volumes of essays titled Fărâme de suflet (Grains of Soul). At the same time, a prose book titled, Copilul înțelept (The Wise Child), is to appear at a publishing house from Chisinau.     

Aurelian Silvestru was born in the Cuselauca village, northern Soldanesti district, on 1 October 1949. He graduated from the Philology Faculty, journalism section, of the Moldovan State University in 1968. In 1973, he graduated from the Alecu Russo Pedagogical Institute from Balti, Pedagogy and Psychology Faculty. In 1974-78, Silvestru trained for his doctor’s degree in the field of creativeness and self-knowledge at the Moscow-based Psychology Institute. Afterwards, he attended courses of management and small business at the Academy of International Relations from Cairo.      

As writer and publicist, he translated more monographs and textbooks of psychology and published numerous essays, booklets and books for children. He is author of a book of aphorisms and of a book of songs for children. His literary work was highly appreciated at the Congress of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) from Mexico and was included in the IBBY Honoris List 2014 for the book Fărâme de suflet (Grains of Soul). This book is regarded as one of the best books for children, which is to be translated into all languages of the IBBY countries.     

Aurelian Silvestru was awarded the Prize of Moldova’s Writers’ Union (2002), ProInvest Golden Medal, offered at the International Invention Saloon from Cluj-Napoca (Romania) (2009),  the prize, Book of the Year in Moldova (2003, 2011) and the Children’s Liking Prize (2004) at the International Book Saloon for Children and Youth, Ion Creanga Prize for the entire work in the field of books for children, awarded by the Romanian Cultural Institute (2014), Order of the Republic (2009) and Dimitrie Cantemir Medal of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences.
