New investment project worth 14 million euros launched in Moldova

Chisinau, Dec. 2 / MOLDPRES /- Omni Steel company, specialized in steel processing, announced today its investment project for Moldova worth 14 million euros, which will generate 250 jobs. The company will operate with raw materials (iron scrap) purchased from local businesses and will use the technology of metal smelting by induction, with a low impact on the environment.

Attending the launch event, Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu welcomed the gesture of the investors and voiced confidence that this example will be followed by other investors.

"I congratulate the founders of the company and thank them for their involvement in the market of the Republic of Moldova. We are witnessing an event that supports the strategy of the Ministry of Economy for the development of the national economy - investments in the development of industrial platforms and job creation; attracting the diaspora home to implement the experience gained abroad, in this case the transfer of technology from Romania; collaboration between IT and other industries, one of the investors being an entrepreneur in the field of information technologies ", he said.

The Omni Steel company has a concrete steel production capacity of 100-150,000 tons per year and is located in Pănășești (Straseni district), subzone 8 of the Balti Free Economic Zone. The production process launch is scheduled for 2022 autumn.
