Decision on allowances for physicians dead of COVID-19 published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The government’s decision on the allocation of financial means for 25 families of physicians dead of COVID-19 was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.

Under the document, the relatives of the medial staff who died in the fight against the new-type coronavirus will receive one-off allowances on behalf of the state. The cabinet of ministers on 3 December approved the earmarking of 2.5 million lei from the government’s intervention fund, from which 25 families will benefit.

The draft is meant to support the relatives of the employees from the public medical and sanitary institutions who worked in the Chisinau municipality, as well as in some Moldovan districts, in positions of physicians, medical assistants, nurses, midwives. Each family will receive 100,000 lei.

So far, 45 families of medical employees dead of COVID-19 have received one-off allowances.
