Court of Accounts to carry out audit on gas in 2022

Chisinau, Dec. 8 / MOLDPRES /- Parliament will propose to the Court of Accounts to conduct an external public audit on gas. The parliamentary commission for control of public finances approved today report on a draft law in this regard.

According to the document, the audit would be performed on the activity of companies and entities in the field of natural gas in terms of compliance of their activities and financial transactions with legal rules.

The audit mission will be carried out in derogation from the provisions of the Law on the organization and functioning of the Court of Accounts and the Law on Joint Stock Companies, which establishes that the audit may be performed on the public interest entity and the company in which the state share exceeds 50% social.

Deputy head of the public finance control commission Artur Mija said that in 30 years in the Republic of Moldova no external public audit has been carried out in this field.
