Moldova likely to get 60 million-euro grant to manage energy crisis

Chisinau, Dec. 8 / MOLDPRES /- The European Commission is expected to provide Moldova with a 60 million-euro grant to manage the energy crisis. The Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration today approved the start of negotiations and the signing of the Financing Agreement between the Government of Moldova and the European Commission.
Under the agreement, the money will be provided as grants under the Neighborhood, Development Cooperation and International Cooperation Instrument - Global Europe.
The document aims to mitigate the socio-economic impact of rising gas prices. The amount is to be disbursed in a single installment by the end of this month.
