Chisinau, Dec. 13 / MOLDPRES /- Sangerei district benefits from an updated digital map in the water supply and sewerage (WSS) sector, thanks to a planning project in the field of water management, implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR) through the Innovation Fund for Sustainable Development Goals in Moldova.

On December 10, at the Sangerei District Council, ADR Nord organized the first practical workshop for local public authorities, in order to apply smart strategic planning tools in the WSS sector. According to Elena Verenciuc, head of department at ADR Nord, the project aims to create the planning framework needed to attract investment in the AAC sector and efficient resource planning to ensure equitable access to quality water and sanitation services.

The project will have an impact on the socio-economic life of Sangerei, Briceni and Glodeni districts in terms of better water quality, a wider range of agricultural and non-agricultural activities (economic diversification), tourism development due to access to WSS and necessary facilities in all areas of activity due to the capitalization of investments in this field.

On December 14-15, ADR Nord will organize similar workshops in Briceni and Glodeni districts.

The project SMART Planning in water management is implemented by ADR Nord through the Innovation Fund for Sustainable Development Goals in Moldova (SDG Innovation Fund Moldova), within the project Support for the Government of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the 2030 Agenda, funded by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
