Moldovan Interior Ministry launches software due to ensure work of automated information system, State Register of Guns

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The process of record of the gun owners will become more rigorous. The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved a draft decision providing for the creation of an automated information system of guns’ record. Through the online platform, people will be able to submit applications for getting permissive acts, follow the process of supervision over the circulation of guns and ammunitions with civil purpose, owned by private people and legal entities, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.       

The information system will contribute to the strict record of guns, the international search of the guns lost, purloined or involved in committing offences, as well as to enhancing the public security and avoiding of eventual incidents or offences.  

Concomitantly, the document will facilitate the exchange of information and the inquiry cooperation between the entities in charge of the ensuring of the observance of law in the field of local and international circulation of firearms.   

At the same time, this draft establishes the procedure of full visualization of the process regarding the carrying out of operations with guns and ammunitions on the entire segment at the import of guns to Moldova by armourers licenced in the field, transfer of guns to Moldova and abroad, cancellation and suspension of the gun licences or deprivation of the right to own a gun.     

Therefore, the draft’s implementation will ensure a more rigorous record of guns and their owners, of the events and operations with guns and will enhance the citizens’ safety.
