Moldovan cabinet approves new facilities for producing energy from renewable sources

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The rural communities, agricultural producers and animal breeders will be able to diminish the expenses for production and maintenance by the use of photovoltaic installations. In this respect, the cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved the government’s notification on the draft law for the amendment of the Land Code, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The document sees amendments, which will allow placing solar photovoltaic systems on farmlands, without being necessary the change of the purpose. According to the same amendments, decision-makers allow changing the high quality farmlands for the construction of wind energy devices.     

The document sees that the photovoltaic installations should be fixed at the soil by metal structure and not through the use of reinforced concrete or other type of construction materials, which would have negative impact on the soil’s fertility.       

At the same time, the document envisages measures to preserve and enhance the soil’s fertility. Also, the conditions of designing, setting, assembling of solar photovoltaic systems and wind power plants are included.   

The draft also sees that the photovoltaic panels should be placed on lands with degraded soils with a reliability of less than 40 points. The changes are necessary for protecting the high quality farmlands and for enhancing the energy security, reducing the import of energy.
